Metal-ligand bond interactions serve both to modulate the electronic properties of the metal center and to influence the steric environment of the metal coordination sphere, thus providing excellent control over the structure and reactivity of the coordinated metal center. Therefore, the design and development of new ligand motifs is crucial to advance the area of organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis.1
Herein, the design and development of different class of ligands, from P-Stereogenic Phosphines2 and hemilabile/chelating P^N ligands3, to more electronically flexible ligands such as Mesoionic N-Heterocyclic Carbenes (NHCs)4 and Pyridylideneamide (PYA)5, will be discussed. In addition, special attention will be given to their use in organometallic transformation and homogenous catalysis.

El objetivo es demostrar el esencial papel de los bioestimulantes agrícolas, y en concreto de aquellos elaborados a partir de biomasa de microalgas.
A cargo del Instituto de Ciencia de los Materiales de Sevilla, en colaboración con Centres Científics i Tecnològics Universitat de Barcelona.
Este año se han llevado el reconocimiento Manabe, Hasselmann y Parisi en la categoría de Física, mientras que List y MacMillan obtienen el premio en Química.
El grupo de Química de Superficies y Catálisis del ICMS, ha conseguido un proyecto de gran relevancia para la producción de biofuels en la última convocatoria del Ministerio.
En la investigación liderada por Vicente Mariscal y su grupo Simbiosis entre Planta y Cianobacteria, se ensaya un biofertilizante respetuoso con el medio ambiente.
Este año se celebrará el 24 de septiembre y contará con actividades presenciales además de online en la que participarán compañeros de nuestros institutos.
Irene, responsable del grupo de Interactómica del IIQ, ha sido elegida miembro del Comité de Educación de la International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, IUBMB).
